I prefer to build 1/48 scale aircraft but this 72 scale kit was the only kit of the 15 that was accessible to me. Not a bad kit of this aircraft at all! Painted it with silver first, flat black second, then finely sanded to bring out the panel line detail. Then glossed, decaled, semi glossed over it all. I may do the fuel tanks later but not sure. Got allot of hints from the air force museum up the road in dayton. I always loved this plane. It looks fast just sitting on the ground!

The movie was called ( The X-15 ) seen it in the 60ies and again just a few years ago. To me it was a good movie dealing with many early test pilots all base on true events
