Just got this kit and was looking through it and before I knew it I was starting it. This is a nice kit with not much flash on anything so it's easy to clean.
Box Art
it says a 65 but it is a 641/2 in reality by the eng. configuration but more on that later.
Parts count
and those are some big parts too.

Now the fun begins, started on the engine which went together good with no fitting issues. was checking things over and found that the # 1 thru # 4 plugs are in the wrong place
they are to start in front of the exhaust manifold and not behind, I fixed that by turning the mounting plate over and removing the tabs like so
# 5 thru #8 are correct as is
painted the plugs black so you can see what I'm talking about. Good ole AMT with the front axle going thru the oil pan which I filled
they do have the carb and dist. correct, Ford flat top 4 bbl and a dual point dist. with no vacuum advance
Did some clean up on the body parts and got the front and rear valance panels installed
and here is a pict of this with a 1/25 hardtop in front
That's all for right now, my plan is to detail this as much as I can cause it is big enough for my to see the detail parts to install and maybe make a few also. Thanks for looking and will up date when I get more done.

This is a cool kit. You are off to a great start. My wife bought me the kit in 1987 and on that box art is says 64 1/2. It also came with an extra set of taillight bezels and lights to do the factory option of 2 taillights on each side. I still have it and tore down for a resto...should get to it one of these days LOL.

Virgil the 64 1/2 kit and the 65 are the same kit they just did a different box art for the 65, this has the same extra parts as you have.
Might be a little while before I get back on this, some how the carpet monster got the dist. so I found one and waiting for it to come in.

It's been a while but I got back on this and got the engine done and I noticed by the pictures that I painted the bottom of the air cleaner the wrong Ford Blue, should be the light blue but that is an easy fix. Going to start on the frame and susp. next so will up date when I get more done. Thanks for looking.
