Hi Gang, this is the reissue of the sizzler kit that Monogram had a long time ago.
After I got things figured out how I wanted this to look I got the parts together and cleaned them up ( not a lot to clean but enough ) started with the frame, used the 3 middle cross members, glued the frame rails together then put it on the bottom body panel to keep it straight while drying
Set the bottom front panel on to check the frame for being straight
after the frame dryed I put the front axle mount in ( took 3 times to get it in their right )
Going to be using a Ford 427 Sohc instead of the hemi that comes in the kit. put the block together for the hemi and the SOHC, using the in/out box on the SOHC so cut the 4 spd of the SOHC and the in/out box off the Hemi. Put a plate on the front of the in/out box so it would fit the SOHC and cut the molded in starter off the SOHC block and filled it in
in/out box
Thanks for looking and will up date when I get more done.

Good start. That is a good kit. It gives you a lot of parts to build most anything you want.

I'm glad you're showing your build of this kit. I want to buy a couple of them, but, surprisingly, none of the model magazines did any more than a typical review on it. I would have thought it would deserve a full blown article showing the variations.

Tom Tom, this a good kit, if you look at the box art they have the different versions you can make and the instructions have a separate section for each version or you can even make your own version plus have parts for the parts box ( I never throw anything away ). I've got 3 more of these for later use.

Got the SOHC done Fired up the air brush and got the body panels painted with Avon nail polish, Lucky Penny is the name of it and this is the first time I tried nail polish which came out pretty good I think. Put 2 coats of clear over it and let it dry. Body Panels and the trailer Going to start finishing this up and figure out to make a better looking tongue for the trailer.

I do like that color. The engine is looking sweet!! Are you going to put a big toolbox on the tongue, or a tire rack??

Had to see what it looked like with the panels painted, on the chassis and with the eng. in been working on the chassis but haven't taken any pictures yet. Virgil, I don't know for sure but might be a tire rack cause the support vehicle is a 40 Ford Sedan Delivery so the tool and such would be in it.

I was goofing around and put the slicks on the chassis and set it on the trailer, guess what !! It's too wide for the dragster I could narrow the trailer but I think it would be easier to build one for it instead.

Got the rest of the frame bars and roll cage in Didn't like the seat that the kit has, molded into the frame bars so I dug in the parts box and got one with the harness molded in Added two frame side bars by the seat, painted the chassis, installed the brake cyl. and the steering wheel Got the rear brakes mounted to the rear wheels, don't come with the kit but found them in the parts box Rear view Front view Those are the Racemaster slick's from the Revell Parts pack, like the pad printing. Got the kit front tire's and wheel's together Just installed the front axle Needs a little work yet like painting the spring. Going to start on the trailer and get this ready to finish up by the end of Feb. Thanks Virgil, I hoping it looks good.

That's going to be a great looking rig when finished! I like the idea of tow rigs and trailers- there's a lot of possibilities out there, but you don't see too many in forums or magazines.
